When you first read that heading, if you’re anything like me, you probably started singing the song. “I got the power.”
Today, I would like to talk about the power that we all have. It’s a very important power called “The power to choose”.
Throughout our life we are faced with many choices, and choices come with consequences—both good and bad. When we are faced with difficult situations or perhaps even confrontations, we have a choice about how we are going to respond. We can either have a negative reaction or we can have a positive response.
It’s amazing how this truly applies to our business. When it comes to either success or failure, ultimately, we make that final choice. Think about how we all first started. Some of you have been around for a while and others are fairly new. When you were first presented with this opportunity knowing there are risks that come with success, you were faced with the choice of passing it up or going for it. If you are reading this, it sounds like you made the choice to go for it.
I tell everyone in this business that the first year is going to be the most difficult, and you will come to a crossroads where you will have to make a life decision. Sadly, just when someone was about to have some big success, they made a choice to settle for a life of mediocrity. Others understood there were going to be some difficulties but chose to not look back and be 100% committed to having success.
I think now of all the opportunities that our representatives have, and I have to say they are very fortunate. When I first started in the business, I was offered very little money and did not hear anything about residuals or even knew what they were for my first four years. Somebody trained me for a day and a half and sent me on my own to figure things out. I was told to call each night and give a report on how I did. I believe this helped me pave the way to learn and to help others down the road.
I am very excited about this opportunity now more than ever. New representatives come into the company earning top pay and receiving residuals immediately. They receive field training along with daily motivations, inspirations, and continuous training programs. The incentive programs and contests are incredible.
As I say all this, the choice is made to offer you an amazing opportunity and teach you how to be successful, but ultimately it comes down to one thing and the most important thing—THE POWER TO CHOOSE.
The bottom line is that you make the final decision on whether you are going to have big success. You decide if you’re going to get up early in the morning and drive 1 to 2 to 3 hours and work 8 hours and then drive back home and do that Monday through Friday, week after week, month after month, year after year. Many people talk about overnight successes. Personally, that’s the program I have been doing and it took me 18 years to become an overnight success.
Life is short. Life is incredible. Life goes by fast. You have an awesome power. Choose to be successful. Choose to be positive. Choose to forgive. Choose to hold no grudges. Choose to be kind. Choose to love one another. Choose to help one another. Choose to be selfless and not selfish, and choose to enjoy this incredible journey called life.
