One of the reasons my theatre group wanted to try “Flock & Fowl” after the play is because it had such an unusual name we figured it had to be good, and it was…in fact, it was great!

Chef Sheridan Su, a James Beard Award nomination for Best Chef: West and his wife Jenny Wong own and operate Flock & Fowl. Their mantra is, “We only cook what we would serve our own family. We believe what you eat should be natural, pure and fresh.”

Flock & Fowl is located on the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Ogden on the first floor of The Ogden in the heart of Downtown Las Vegas.  We were a little confused by some of the menu selections, but our server was quite helpful explaining the specialties and how they were prepared, and extremely patient while we changed our minds several times because we wanted to order everything on the menu. She told us that Flock & Fowl is known for their signature dish, Hainanese Chicken Rice so that’s what I ordered. It features Mary’s free-range chicken, with your choice of preparation, traditional, fried or roasted and it was served with rice cooked in chicken stock complimented with ginger scallion, house-made chile, and soy dipping sauces, plus your choice of two sides: the one-hour egg, bone broth, sausage, or veggies. The chicken was tender, juicy and flavorful. We also ordered the Bang Bang Chicken Noodle Salad and the Laska, curry coconut noodle soup and for the less adventurous types in the group, cheeseburgers with curly fries. My mouth is watering while I’m writing this.  Be sure to save room for dessert, you won’t want to miss the Cast Iron Chocolate Chip Cookie with vanilla ice cream and miso caramel sauce…it’s insanely good!

Flock & Fowl features a full bar and hand-crafted signature cocktails, a beautiful modern décor with a comfortable vibe and friendly staff.  They showcase work from artists in the local community which adds an originality to their décor.  By the way, don’t bring cash.  Flock & Fowl is “cashless”, they only accept credit/debit cards.

The consensus is that we loved Flock & Fowl and we will definitely go back.
