Every Day Is a Gift

every-day-is-a-gift

So many times we get caught up in the busyness of life and forget that each day on this earth is truly a gift. Yes, there are distractions and obstacles that will come our way and we may get stressed out. But, it is so important to understand that each day is a blessing, and each day is a gift.

Sometimes we get reminded of this and sadly, it comes through a difficult situation or unfortunately, a tragedy. This past week, as many of you have heard, one of our Retriever family members experienced a tragedy within their family. When we go through situations like this, it reminds us that the little things we stress out over in life really don’t matter.

Many of you know that I serve on a ministry in Jacksonville, Florida, which reaches the most needy people. The majority of these people are sleeping in the streets and wondering where their next meal is coming from. Some are in this situation through bad choices, while others have just gone through unfortunate circumstances. The name of this ministry is called “Hands and Feet Foundation.”

Every time I leave there, I feel like I learn something—about people and also about life in general. For some, it may be the only meal that they eat all day. They are extremely grateful. If I ever were to feel sorry for myself or stress out about a situation, Hands And Feet Foundation reminds me of how blessed I really am. I am thankful to know that I am blessed to be a blessing. It’s truly an honor for me to serve here.

I am speaking from my heart today, nothing scripted. None of us are promised tomorrow. When we wake up each morning, we are gifted with the breath of life. The question is, “What are you going to do with the gift of today?”

Let me encourage you to start each day with a grateful heart. For each person you encounter for the day, set a goal to make their day better just because they met you. Greet everyone with a smile. If you find someone that has a need, do your very best to help them. If you’re holding grudges, let them go. If you need to forgive someone, forgive them today—even if they don’t deserve it. Choose to move on and live positively. Live with passion. Live with no regrets. Make the life that you are living an absolute blast. Do all the things you’ve always said you wanted to do. Complete your bucket list.

With RMS, we can all have the life that many people only dream about. There is no secret formula. As you’ve all heard me say 1000 times, attitude plus effort equals success. Life is short, you might as well be successful. Build a life that will leave an incredible legacy.

Today is the beginning of the rest of your awesome life. Choose to make this day your best day ever!

Be blessed and encouraged always.
