3 Tips To Sell Like the Best

sell-best

I look around at the varying backgrounds of people in our industry, and they come from all different places. Some have had little to no sales experience, while others have been in sales much of their life. Having sales experience does help, but don’t worry if you do not have any. There is no such thing as a born salesperson. A salesperson is made.

If you have committed to having sales as your career, then let me encourage you to be the best salesperson you can be. My desire for you is to get you to the highest level of success you can achieve. In order to be the best, you have to think like the best. If you start thinking like the most successful salespeople think, eventually you will start getting the same results the top salespeople get.

Would you really like to know what the most successful salespeople think about most of the time? The reality is that it’s not very complicated. They simply think about what they want and what it’s going to take to get it. They are focused on their goals and how to sell more.

This is why it is crucial to constantly think about your goals. The more you do that, the more positive and excited you become. Unfortunately, most people focus on their problems while successful people focus on their goals.

Do you really want to be the best of the best?

Well, here is how…

1). Be ambitious.

The most successful salespeople see themselves already as being the best of the best. They understand that the top 20% of salespeople make 80% of the sales, and they are determined to be in that group.

Starting today, make a commitment to excellence. Make a commitment to be the best in your industry. Start believing  you are going to join the top 10% and be the most successful in our field.

It is all about making the decision. Once you have decided to do that, start working consistently. Make the decision to improve and keep developing one new skill and ability each day, each week, and each month. Choose to improve daily. There is no secret formula. If you are consistent, you will have success.

In order to be the best, you have to act like the best. Starting today, as you are reading this, repeat these words over and over again: “I AM THE BEST SALESPERSON!” Keep doing this until these words come true in your life.

2). Overcome your fears.

The two fears that are success killers are the fear of failure and the fear of rejection.

Learn to take these fears head on and confront them. Embrace failure. Failure is part of success. In order to succeed and learn, you have to have failure. Do not take rejection personally, and understand that it is simply something you are going to have to deal with on your success journey.

No matter what, everyone is afraid. The difference between the successful person and the person that fears, is that the successful person decided to keep going. Everyone you meet in life has some sort of fear of failure and rejection. Choose to be the successful person who confronts the fear, and just do it anyway.

Those of you that know me, know how I promote self-positive talk. It may sound silly, but it definitely works. Start looking in the mirror daily, and give yourself a pep talk. It should go something like this,  “I am fantastic. I am successful. I love myself. I’m the best of the best. I can do this.” If you’re not doing this already, start right now!

The more you do this, the lower your fears are and the higher your self-esteem and self-confidence become. If you want to be the best salesperson, this is the mindset that you have to have.

3). Make the commitment.

In order to be the best of the best in sales. You have to have the magic word called “belief.” The top salespeople believe in their company. They believe in their products and services. They believe in their customers but most importantly, they believe in themselves.

We have an amazing company, and we have services for everyone. Be enthusiastic about what you are doing, and you will find that the merchants you are selling to become more excited. Enthusiasm is contagious.

I absolutely love what I do. Because I love what I do, that enthusiasm spills over to everyone else including the prospects I speak to. When I say I love what I do, I am making a choice.

Don’t get me wrong. I have tough days and there are days when I may look back and say, “That was not a good day.” But, even in those days, I still choose to love what I do. Here comes some more self-talk for you. Repeat after me.

“I absolutely love what I do! I absolutely love what I do! I absolutely love what I do!”

The best of the best love themselves, and they love their career. The prospects they encounter can feel it. The merchants are buying you.

Today, I received a great compliment. The business owner stated to me that the only reason they signed up with our company is because they really liked me. Don’t ever forget the importance of understanding we are simply selling ourselves.

In order to be the best, you have to decide to be the best. Each and every one of you are gifted with amazing talents. Use them to the best of your ability, and make the decision to work on these three areas. You can do this. I’m looking forward to celebrating your success with you. Be the best of the best!

Blessings and success!
