DELICIOUSNESS UNDER ONE ROOF

There is nothing but deliciousness under the roof of Esther’s Kitchen. Native Las Vegan Chef James Trees’ farm-to-table Italian Restaurant is a new addition in the Arts District of Downtown Las Vegas. Opened in January 2018 and named after Chef Trees’ great-aunt, Esther’s Kitchen is a casual, retro and rustic-style restaurant with great energy, friendly service, and really flavorful food.

A group of us went to Esther’s Kitchen for our pre-theatre meal so we were fortunate in that we were able to taste several different menu items from the pizzas, pasta and desserts. I expected the menu to be typical Italian food, but I was pleasantly surprised, it was different than what I had expected and extremely creative. It was a home cooked meal with a creative flair. esther-kitchen-2

Our server added to our experience, he was very knowledgeable about the food, how it was prepared, what ingredients were used, and suggested his favorites. We started with sourdough bread served with Burrata Alla Panna and anchovy garlic butter, and an impressive charcuterie and cheese board with a variety of meats, cheeses, pickles, toasted bread, and fig jam.  If you like bread and pasta, they are made in-house daily and the pizzas are made-to-order. Be sure to try the big and savory meatballs, mushroom polenta with Sherry and truffle butter and the melt-in-your-mouth rigatoni carbonara, porchetta with broccoli and chitarra tossed with Pecorino Romano cheese and Tellicherry black pepper.  What a feast!  Esther’s Kitchen also offers a full bar with a beverage program of classic and hand-crafted cocktails and an impressive list of imported and domestic wines with no bottle over $40. esther-kitchen-1

The highlight to the evening was when Chef Trees took the time out of his busy kitchen to talk to all the tables. What an interesting man with a colorful background and loads of talent.  An evening well spent.

Be sure to add Esther’s Kitchen to your list of restaurants to try whether it’s for date night, a group outing or a social celebration, and make a reservation because if you don’t, you might not get in; it was packed that Saturday night we were there.

*Perfect for group reservations and social occasions.
